General Appearance (at least two paragraphs): Devin has long light brown hair that can appear blondish in certain types of light and reaches down past her shoulders. Her eyes are a grayish-blue, but like most light eyes, have the tendency to look grayer on certain days and bluer on others depending on what she is wearing. Her eyes, like many people, are the things that show how she is really feeling, even if she is doing her best to hide it on her face.
When not in her school uniform, Devin prefers to dress in the casual muggle clothing that she grew up with. While most girls go for the more fashionable clothes, Devin can usually be seen wearing holey jeans with a t-shirt and hoodie. The reason why is simple. One, she would rather wear something comfortable, something that she can move around in and not have to worry about. This leads the next thing. Make-up. Unless it is for a special occasion, Devin won’t wear it. It isn’t that she things she doesn’t need it, she is just far too lazy to apply it everyday.
Like most teenagers, Devin views herself as being average. While she is slender, she is by no means skinny or fit. There is still some fat to her, giving her a rather soft look. Her skin never really tans. Instead, it is usually pale, or slightly red from being outside in the sun. She knows that she is one of the more plainer girls of the school. Knowing this she is more comfortable with herself since she finds it better that to think that than to fuss over her looks. Of course, there are things that Devin dislikes about herself such as her nose and her lips, but she does her best not to think about those things to much.

Overall Personality (Three paragraphs): While most girls would hate having a name that is dominated by the male population, Devin is glad that she has the name she does. In her opinion, it sets her apart from the common girl names of the world and makes her unique. Most of the time, you can find Devin in a good mood though there are moments where if she has had a bad day, she can practically bite your head off. These moments are few though and tend to only happen in the up most stressful times, such as before a big exam.
When it comes to people and her looks, Devin tries not to pay to much attention. In her mind, she is average, maybe even on the plain side. The quickest way to make Devin feel ugly is to tell her she’s pretty. This might sound strange, and sure, it can be flattering ever once and while, but say it to much or often, and Devin will take the opposite. To her, saying it to often makes her feel uncomfortable, since she knows that she is nowhere as good looking as most of the girl population at Hogwarts.
Like most people, she has numerous flaws. Devin has a terrible habit of doing before thinking, which usually lands her in situations that can be rather troublesome. Along with that, she tends to be very stubborn and determined, something that annoys her parents to no end. Once her mind is set to something, it becomes close to impossible to convince her other wise.
In situations with strangers, Devin can be very shy and nervous, which sometimes results in a small lapse of clumsiness. Once she becomes more comfortable with people, Devin can be a fun person to be around. Her humor leans more towards the sarcastic side but she does manage to make a good joke every now and then.
Her taste in music is never set to one type. She enjoys listening to the classics as much as she does the latest release from The Muse. With books, Devin tends to stick more to the classics, enjoying the writings of Fyodor Dostoevsky and Leo Tolststoy amongst many others. When it comes to music in the wizarding world, she tends to be rather clueless.
Unlike most of the student body at Hogwarts, Devin has never, and will never, try out for the quidditch team. The thought has never even crossed her mind. Its not that she doesn’t like quidditch, she would just prefer to watch than to actually participate. Most likely, the main reason behind this is her lack of ability to fly is her fear of heights.
Family:
-Patrick O’Callaghan (Father, 51)
-Nia O’Callaghan(Mother, 47)
-Keiran O’Callaghan (Brother, 18)
History (Three paragraphs): Devin was born in to a muggle family in Limerick Ireland on June 15th. For the most part, her early childhood was rather normal. She grew up in a middleclass neighborhood with her parents and older brother. Her parents were the average, having a fight here and there though not bad enough to cause problems. Since Devin was a very shy child, she spent most of her time playing with her brother. Her mother loved to read her the old fairy tales about changelings and spirits and for the first five years of Devin’s life, she thought that magic only belonged in those stories.
It wasn’t till the year that Devin turned six that she realized that something was different about her. She would get strange feelings, usually before something happened. Along with that, she found herself able to do other things as well, such as lift a pencil off the floor without actually picking it up. These new experience scared her and for a time she kept them to herself, thinking that there was something wrong with her, or that worse yet, she was some changeling left to take the place of the real Devin.
With skill and luck, she managed to keep her secret hidden from her family for a short time. However, one day when she was seven, Devin was crying about a lost stuffed animal of hers. She got so upset, that she accidentally caused a nearby empty glass to shake and fall of the table. At first, her parents shook it of, dismissing thoughts that their daughter could have caused such a thing to happen. Despite this, they found themselves paying closer attention to her, catching more and more things that she did. It wasn’t long till the confronted her and Devin was forced to tell her secret.
Like most parents, Devin’s refused to let this lessen their love for their daughter. Instead, they encouraged her and were proud of her ability. The proudest of all was her brother, since this new source of power seemed to give his younger sister a courage boost.
When Devin turned eleven she received a letter by owl, a very strange thing to both her and her family. Uncertain, she opened it carefully and was shocked to find a find a piece of parchment telling her she had been accepted into Hogwarts. Her parents first thought was that this was a joke, surely there was no such place or else they would have heard about it. It turned out not to be a joke, but a real place. Devin was so excited about Hogwarts, especially since it meant meeting more people like herself. She was so ecstatic that it was all she could think about for the rest of the summer.

RP Sample (Try to make it more than one paragraph): Devin sat quietly on the benches over looking the quidditch field. In her hands sat a closed book, the thought of reading in forgotten as she watched the figures dart here and there on their brooms. While she didn’t really know why, this was something that found herself doing more and more often. It had started on accident; that she had just happened to be studying during a practice. Having never been a huge quidditch fan, she found herself strangely affected. Her eyes were glued to them as they went into stomach dropping dives, their speed only increasing instead of slowing.
It would be a lie to say that she wasn’t envious of them, the way they were able to fly in the air on an object that she had been told while growing up was strictly for cleaning purposes only. However, the memory of her first flying class banished all thoughts of it. Needless to say, it had been a failure. Devin had only managed to get the broom of the ground a little before falling to the ground in a painful thud. That experience had kept her from the activity that seemed to take over the school.
Sighing, Devin tore her eyes away from the players. She had let herself get distracted when she should have really been paying attention to her reading. Looking down at the book in her hands, Devin opened it to the spot she had been at and picked up her reading on the troll wars.
